I have always been very fond of budgies ('parakeets' in American English), ever since a beautiful young male budgie - a so called 'recessive pied' - arrived in my life. I was 7 years old then, and had budgies until I was in my early twenties. After a rather long period without any feathered friends, Alfie and Teddy became members of our family in November 2006.
