Border Collie information: The Border Collie originated in the border country of England and Scotland towards the end of 19th century Border Collies are medium-sized dogs with a moderate amount of coat. It can come in a variety of colours, mostly black and white but also black tricolor (black/tan/white), red and white, and red tricolour (red/tan/white), blue creme and yellow white, red merle, blue merle amongst others colours. The Border Collie is a highly intelligent herding dog. They are beautiful, energetic, affectionate dogs that need to be active. They can make wonderful pets but are working dogs, thus demanding and energetic - they require exercise and 'a job' to be happy, i.e. they need mental as well as physical stimulation. Border Collies excel at dog sports such as agility and flyball.
