Hungarian Vizsla dog information

The Vizsla is a lean hunting dog of medium size, originally bred in Hungary. Vizslas are lively, energetic, gentle, intelligent and protective. They need lots of exercise and appropriate training but are generally quiet, loyal and affectionate dogs that make good family pets. They share physical characteristics with the Weimaraner but are slightly smaller.The male Vizsla stands between 22 - 25 inches (56 - 63.5 cm), the female between 21 - 24 inches (53 - 61 cm). Males weigh 45 - 65 pounds (20 - 29 kg), females between 40 - 55 lb (18 - 25 kg).

Hungarian Viszlas have short, smooth coats of a golden-rust ("russet gold") colour.
