Pastel painting update

September 30, 2008

Finally another update on the Corvette pastel painting. It seems to be taking ages but every inch needs to be ‘perfect’. I will get there in the end! )

I did get some work done on the Corvette last night but haven’t got round to taking a photo yet. However, there is a new scan of the horse portrait:

Horse portrait – new scan

September 28, 2008

We went to Chessington Zoo yesterday and took some great photos. I might draw a tiger soon if I can make some time…and there’s still several meerkat portraits that I’d like to do in charcoal. Cat pastel pet portrait finished

September 21, 2008

The pastel painting of Bonnie the cat is now finished. Considering that I had to transplant this pretty cat’s head onto another cat’s body and then edit it, using the photos of Bonnie that were available, I am very pleased with the result. I hope her owners will be too! )

Pony portrait finished

September 20, 2008

I have just finished the pony portrait in pastels: This pet portrait was drawn on Chanson mi-teintes pastel paper which I was not overly happy with. I have used it before but for some reason found the rough texture a bit annoying this time, although I did actually use the smooth side. It didn’t scan [...]

New horse portrait

I have started working on a new horse portrait commission. I have not finished the car and cat portraits yet but this one is a birthday present so I need to finish it asap.
