This is 'Minnie', a European otter whose home is at the British Wildlife Centre in Surrey, England. Minnie has been adopted by Dame Judi Dench who is a friend of the Centre and opened the new red squirrel enclosure in March 2010.
As a huge fan of Dame Judi and a frequent visitor to the wildlife centre, I decided to paint Minnie for her and present her with the portrait after a performance of 'A midsummer night's dream' at the Rose Theatre in Kingston, England.
