The Grey Phalarope is a beautiful little wader that breeds in the Arctic
and winters out at sea. Sometimes individual birds
can be seen along the coast on migration, especially after storms.
I was lucky enough to be able to watch and photograph a beautiful juvenile
grey phalarope at Prinsted in West Sussex in September 2011.
The little bird was pretty
much tame and did not mind me at all. I wish bird watching could always be
like this!
