Although the Kestrel is one of the raptors you will get to see on most
birdwatching trips in the countryside, these birds appear to be incredibly
shy. I can't count the times I spotted one by the roadside, nicely
perched...sorted out my camera, slowly tried
to get out of the car (or tried to take a photo from the car window) -
only to find the kestrel had just taken off and disappeared. Here's a
collection of my best efforts (so far!).
