Fine Pet Portraits - an artist's blog

My name is Sandra Palme, I am a professional pet portrait artist based in the UK. I draw your dog, cat horse or any other pet in pastels, charcoal, coloured pencils or graphite. It is my goal to capture the pet's personality and essence as well as their looks. I know how much your pet means to you as I feel the same about mine! Update

I'm just in the process of adding the finishing touches to the last couple of Christmas commissions. I have also been able to draw and paint a few more fun portraits. You can check them out here:

Not too long now and I'll be able to show you my Christmas commissions as well!

Here's my latest watercolour "Friends?", showing a horse and a Greyhound saying hello to each other. I'm getting to really like this medium and will be experimenting with my watercolours some more during the holidays. The ref is based on a photo by Christiane Slawik, http://www.slawik.com/. I am very pleased with how this has turned out.

Busy, busy, busy!

Just as well I just finished the portrait of my horse... I've now got several commissions to work on and more to come: about eight cats, eight or nine horses and a dog. This will certainly keep me busy for a while! :o)

New commission started - Boxer dog

I've put my horse's character study to one side for the moment and started my latest commission - the head study of a Boxer dog called 'Gina'. Sadly Gina passed away just before Christmas and is sorely missed. Gina will be drawn in pastels.
