Fine Pet Portraits - an artist's blog

My name is Sandra Palme, I am a professional pet portrait artist based in the UK. I draw your dog, cat horse or any other pet in pastels, charcoal, coloured pencils or graphite. It is my goal to capture the pet's personality and essence as well as their looks. I know how much your pet means to you as I feel the same about mine! Horse pastel portrait - another update

And another update... I know it doesn't look like I've done much but it is quite a big portrait so it does take time. Bea is a very pretty mare so I'm certainly enjoying drawing her!

Double horse portrait finished

The double pastel portrait of 'Cassie', the Dutch Warmblood mare is now finished. The cream coloured background sets her off nicely.

I am now working on an equine charcoal drawing and a canine pastel portrait for a change....more in my next blog post.

Friesian mare finished!

I've been working hard since my last post so I have finished the collage of the Friesian filly. Here's another WIP (work in progress) first though that I scanned yesterday.

The reference photos were not very good (especially the action shot was very small) but I managed. So here's the finished charcoal portrait:

You can check out the reference photos by clicking here.
Right, off to the shops now (even artists and their families need to eat) and then I am going to work on two budgie portraits. More later!
