Spotted Flycatcher (Muscicapa striata)

Most British birdwatchers used to know a spot where they could go and watch spotted flycatchers from May-October each year. Sadly, the spotted flycatcher is one of the species that have declined dramatically in recent years.
I always feel incredibly privileged when I have the opportunity to watch these beautiful little birds catching insects.
Hopefully their numbers will recover and many more birdwatchers are be able to enjoy these fantastic birds.
Here's a collection of my favourite shots. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger version.
